Dear VC,
Thank you for accepting my feedbacks. We had a nice orientation and safety
measures with Melbourne Police. They still need to improvise their
intelligence and they need to have more network and uncover oriented
security.
I stayed in University accommodation at the last moment before coming from
India,I booked an accommodation in BG hall. But I did not get BG hall
because of demand. Then I stayed in Peter Lalor hall in July 2007 to Nov
2007.Please trace out my feedback sent to your email between July 2007 to
Nov 2007 by your Personal Assistant.I have sent my feedback to you for more
information about my experience in Peter Lalor hall.Talia and Kelsey know me
in person.I used to visit International office frequently during my stay in
UB-Mount Helen campus.
I thought of giving you the clarity in the units which I expressed in
previous mail and the units which I failed in Ballarat without a reason.
The ITMS units in brief my experience.
*CP515 Alais ITECH6101( July 2007 intake)-Software enggineering process and
methods.*
I was been suggested by Alex Kruger when I joined Master Information
Technology.I was new to the educational method during my first week first
sem in Australia. The course co ordinator did not even explain the depth of
the unit during that time. The lecturer Shamsheer Syed handled this unit he
made more complex when he handled 12 students in class. No personal
interaction for solution. It was totally vague that time.I could not handle
programming(Faezeh Afshar for programming1) during that time so I excluded 2
units during that time.I took 2 units thats Communication Technology and
Software Engineering which I am currently doing it.
Mr.Shamsheer Syed takes everything personally-emotional and makes the course
more one sided. He was strict in the sense of failing the students. When I
consulted all the students they said he a bit like HITLER to be precise.Lot
of students avoid the units whatever he taught in ITMS most of them.I was
stressed to go and ask doubts with him because if he complicates the unit
and takes something personal when he teaches.
This Material is better and moderator at the moment does according to the
students in UB MT helen.
They need to change the refernece material for this particular unit.At
present in MIT-Hari K sethi is handling the unit,he is a very flexible and
hardworking lecture who handles the unit in MIT.I hope he does not
complicate during our exam from the moderator. The course Co ordinator Alex
Gruger blamed me that I selected the unit when I spoke to him after 5th
week.
I spoke to the international student academic adviser during that time. She
was not clear about the scenario with the lecturers point of view when I
spoke to her.
*Introduction to Multimedia(March 2008 Intake)-**Cp585/cp872
*This Unit was taught by Mr.Peter Vamplew.Everything was going on smoothly
in the university. He was handling about 100 people.I was failed in Part B
there was no reason he said repeat the unit and he smiled at me.Sid Kulkarni
said the same and I had lot of hopes that he will help me.He did not care in
clearing the units for students and there were no examination tips for the
students.I thank the lecturer-Bellal Chowdary(He came for two units I loved
and enjoyed his 2nd unit-Emerging technology in units) and tutor-Mr.Gopi
Krishna in Melbourne Institute of Technology who taught me.I cleared the
unit.I love MIT more professional.More you involved more you are respected
by the faculty.
*Database Management Systems( March 2008 Intake)-cp611/cp858
*
This unit was given to the lecturer who handles communication technology. She
was not able to manage the unit because she was allocated. There were more
people to teach. She was not familiar with unit during that time.I cleared
this unit.At the moment Mr.Ashvin Kumar Koneru is not working in MIT but he
motivated each and every student to do well.I thank this lecturer and tutor
Mr.Biplop Ray.There was an Indian tutor in Ballarat he just complicated the
matter for the assignment. The lecturer class was damn good in MIT.I was
clear with theory but sometimes the assignment sounded vague and I had less
support from the UB lecturer.Sid Kulkarni told me to repeat and there was
not supplementry exam for this unit too.
I tried to meet you in office during that time. The front office people said
you went for a holiday during that particular intake April 2008 to May 2008.
The experiences what I learnt the lecturer must be with the students always
in email or any other media to make the unit more interesting to make him
learn. The instructor who provides to the sister university must not
pressurise the lecturer here. The system is different so they more pressure
and complicate the units to the students here. There must be flexibility in
the changing the units we need at least 2 to 3 weeks time.
The Government needs to make a massive change in dealing with international
students -education,safety, job and Permanent residency to show the world
about Australian educational community. This is the part I am optimistic with
Australia with warm and good hearted people.I hope the Australian government
policy-Department of Education provides to erdicate racism and provide
Permanent Residency for students(International Students) rather the IELTS
way of giving PR.This will be a meaningful after 2 years of study. The
scoring of IELTS bands and other procedure made the students lose hope in
studying in Australia.I heard lot of people doing suicide and returning to
India or home country here. One of my University of Ballarat friend committed
suicide in the mid January. His name is Dinesh(Master in Information
systems-graduated in July 2007) after investigating parents informed their
friends about his IELTS score. They need to have the same policy what they
kept during 2004 to 2006 to provide the students
So I kindly request you to make a note of my experience(Educational Quality)
for future changes and updating in certain features in the university.
Kind Regards,
Pradeep Rajkumar.
